Confidence Boitshepo Makuwa
Student and Teacher in South Africa Johannesburg
Hello, I’m Confidence Boitshepo Makuwa, a fourth-year Bachelor of Education student at the University of Johannesburg, specialising in Sepedi and ICT within the Senior and FET phases.
My journey in education is driven by a passion for creating meaningful learning experiences and exploring how technology can support both teaching and learning. I believe that technology is most valuable in education when it is used purposefully, to make learning more engaging, accessible and relevant to learners' lives.
Through my teacher education and practical teaching experience, I have developed an interest in educational technology integration, lesson planning, assessment, learner engagement and reflective teaching practice. My experience in the classroom continues to shape my understanding of the important relationship between the teacher, the learner, the curriculum and technology.
As a future teacher, I aspire to create learning environments where learners are encouraged to participate, think critically, communicate confidently and apply what they learn beyond the classroom.
I am particularly passionate about the role of ICT in education and how digital tools can be integrated meaningfully into different subjects and learning contexts. At the same time, I value language, culture and the knowledge learners bring from their communities.
My goal is to continue growing as a reflective, innovative and learner-centred teacher who uses technology with purpose while keeping the learner at the heart of the teaching and learning process.
