Melissa Conkling

Melissa Conkling is a New York City based director and dramaturg. She received a BA in Theatre from Eastern Connecticut State University, concentrating in Acting and Directing. Melissa is currently working as the dramaturg on the upcoming workshop production of Road Veins, a new play by Amy Witting. She recently worked as the dramaturg on The Convent of Pleasure by Margaret Cavendish, produced by On Her Shoulders in association with New Perspectives Theatre, and completed internships in Creative Development at Davenport Theatrical Enterprises and in dramaturgy for Julia Quinn Productions. In 2013, she traveled to Oahu, Hawaii to perform a series of site-specific theatrical pieces written, directed and performed by a group of seven students. She is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Theatre at Hunter College, concentrating in Dramaturgy and Theatre History with an emphasis on women theatre makers throughout history.
