My name is Connor McGovern and I am from Roswell, GA. The most important thing in life to me is music. Music gives me the ability to express myself, which is why I could spend all day sitting in my room watching music videos and biographies about different artists. I truly fell in love with music the first day I went to a Zac Brown Band concert, where I felt a connection. It was the live music that really dragged me into the music scene. It was as if I got addicted, craving more and more experiences like my first experience. Throughout high school I would beg my dad to let me go to the next concert, and thankfully he would always say yes. Every time I went to a concert I would feel a connection with the artist, which would amplify my taste for his or her music. But that is why these artists work so hard, they put their blood sweat and tears into their work so that people like me will get inspired. One of my personal favorite artists is Eminem. He is one of the most notorious white rappers, who writes his lyrics carefully, as if he were a poet, so people will be influenced by his words. His intended audience is not for young children, but he says in one of his songs that if one of those kids hears his music and is inspired and can relate to him, then he is happy with that outcome. I believe that everybody can somehow relate to a certain singer, rapper, or DJ, and that is why I believe that music is so powerful.
