Connor McKoy
Tampa, Fla.
Connor McKoy is a senior at the University of South Florida majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in public relations. McKoy is from Jacksonville, Fla., and within months of becoming the second USF alumnus in the McKoy family.
McKoy came to the University of South Florida with extreme ambitions of fixating himself in Tampa’s media market, which ranks 13th nationally. To feed his appetite for success, McKoy became one of the first interns for the USF athletic’s communication department, in only his sophomore year.
After interning with the USF athletics department in 2010, McKoy went on to assist the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Public Relations department on game days for the 2010-11 season, a position he still occupies. McKoy went on to intern for the Buccaneers PR department in the spring of 2012 and was asked to be a training camp assistant in the fall of 2013. McKoy also worked as a production assistant for the Republican National Convention in the fall of 2012.
His experiences in Tampa alone, show that McKoy has not shied away from taking advantage of any opportunity in the mass communications field.
McKoy intends on pursuing an exhilarating career in the fast-paced world of sports public relations and communications. McKoy will become an alumnus of USF in May 2014.
