Connor Beardsley
Amherst Massachusetts
Hello,
I'm Connor. I'm a junior at UMass Amherst studying Finance. I currently work for the maintenance department of Auxiliary Services here at UMass. I have a diverse work history in construction, as well as internship experience with College Works Painting.
I aspire to enter the financial sector upon graduation with a specific interest in banking. My introductory and intermediate classes in accounting, statistics, economics, management and finance have given me the foundation necessary to be successful in an entry-level financial position. My desire to learn and determination give me the ability to grow in any position I take.
In terms of my personal life, I love good people, good conversation, and good laughs. My passion is travel, especially spontaneous getaways. I’ve found there’s nothing like meeting new people with experiences so vastly different than my own. I’ll be traveling to Dublin Ireland in the spring of 2014 where I hope to fulfill all my wildest travel dreams. I’m incredibly excited to be making my first trip to Europe and gain experience in an international internship.
My biggest hero is my father, a self-made entrepeuneur who has taught me the immense value of a hard days work. Someday I hope to start a business of my own and can only hope I have absorbed enough of his wisdom to re-create his success.
Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, and some don't turn up at all. -Sam Ewing
