What’s up, I’m Connor. One of my favorite places on earth is the beach. The beach brings a relaxing and homey feeling that I don't experience anywhere else. However, the reason I adore the beach so much isn't that relaxing feeling, but for surfing. The feeling of surfing a wave has an adrenaline rush that's unmatched by anything I have experienced. Around 7 years ago I taught myself how to surf, and have loved it ever since. Although one of the hardest things I have ever done, surfing taught me important lessons that helped me grow as a person. I have always struggled with patience, and the most important aspect of surfing is patience. The struggle of being patient led me failing over and over again. With each trial and error, I became more aware of how vital patience is for surfing. I started to look for the right wave and not the first decent wave I saw. And soon enough, I was riding my way to shore. Even though surfing ended in the summer, I began to look at life the same way I did surfing. I looked for my best opportunities rather than looking at my first opportunities. I also quickly learned that being too patient can also have the same effects as not being patient. As I got better at surfing, I was able to get better at deciding when the right time is to be patient and not to be patient.
