My Name is Connor and I Like to Get Lost for Fun

My name is Connor Tinaglia. I enjoy running all over the place. I especially enjoy running in a place I have never run before. Most of all, I enjoy running until I get lost in a new place and then finding my way back. I began running when I was 10. I signed up for a 5k and I was convinced that I was going to win. Not only was I convinced I was going to win, I thought I was going to blow everyone away. Obviously, that didn’t happen. I did well for a 5th grader who had never trained or run a real race before. After that race I was hooked. I joined my middle school cross country and track teams in 6th grade and began training. It turned out, I didn’t like training, I only wanted to win races. Some part of me knew that if I wanted to win I had to train, so I kept going to practice (halfheartedly). Fast forward to my sophomore year of high school, I had improved little by little over the years. But something clicked that year and all of the sudden I LOVED RUNNING! I began running all the time, all over the place, just for fun. I stopped caring about winning races and just ran. After this I began to see massive improvements in my times. Fast forward a little more to my senior year at the state track meet. I took second place in the 1600 and 3200 in 4:26 and 9:32. That was a pretty great day but I was glad to be done with competitive running. Ever since then almost every day I like to go out and run until I get lost and then find my way back. It really is fun getting lost.
