I’m Connor Walsh and I’m currently a student here at Durham College. Prior to studying Digital Video Production, I studied Pre-Media at the College from the fall of 2013 till the winter of 2014.
This program helped me develop a variety of skills that are incredibly useful todays industry. This program also allowed me to explore different opportunities in this field and helped me focus on what I wanted to do in the future. It was through this program where I started to grow fond of photography and videography and it’s potential to tell stories and present particular themes.
As a kid it was my exposure to comics that helped me realize that I wanted to be a storyteller and of how you can use a series of images to create art. So throughout elementary and high school that’s what I focused on, being an artist. But when I started to get exposed to photography and videography through the Pre Media program, I soon realized that I could apply my artistic abilities towards that medium. In terms of achievements I have been on the honor roll for the entirety of the Pre Media program and the first semester of Digital Video Production and I plan to remain on the Honor Roll.
In the near future I plan to host a radio show here at the college with my friend Bode Suilaman. The show will be called ‘What Comes To Mind’ and it will be centered on recent developments in film and television, with occasional themed episodes. It is expected to air sometime in February 2015.
