Connor Zinaich is the oldest of four kids in his family, having two younger brothers and one younger sister. He has two caring parents, and is currently a freshman at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina. He is a business major and is a member of the varsity men’s basketball team. At St. Andrews, he's learned to be more mature, manage time, be independent, as well as stay focused and not get distracted, and to take advice from the prestigious teachers this school has as faculty. Prior to attending St. Andrews, Connor attended St. Maria Goretti, a private Catholic school located in Hagerstown, MD. At this institution, he was a member of the varsity club, the varsity boys’ basketball team, the captain of the varsity boys’ soccer team, and received numerous basketball and soccer awards, while consistently making the honor roll every marking period his senior year. During his time at St. Maria Goretti, he learned to get rid of the poor, negative attitude that he possessed as a freshman and sophomore. It was this uncaring, selfish attitude which got him into trouble on a regular basis. The best part about an institution like Goretti is that it is populated by caring individuals. It has been said that it takes a village to raise a child, and in Connor’s case, he is very thankful that Goretti is a village filled with caring people that wanted him to reach his potential. They not only helped him to rid himself of a burdensome attitude, but they also taught him to be respectful, caring, and studious. For this, he will be forever grateful. Prior to Goretti, Connor attended Boonsboro Middle School, a public school in Boonsboro, MD. While attending public school, he learned that private school would be a better fit for him because of the distractions and lack of discipline that could be found at his public school. With a skeptical attitude on the switch to private school, because he would be leaving his existing public school friends; he had many questions, but gave it a try. After finally deciding to switch, he realized it was the best move for him as a person, and he thanks private school for shaping him into the person he is today.
