Conrad Collinson

My name is Conrad Collinson and I study at Coopers Company and Coborn School. I am a go kart driver. I drive the number 99 kart and am in a father son team. I compete at rye house kart track in the Hoddesdon Kart Club championship. I am currently running fifth in the championship after missing round one to do the all star cup at Brentwood Karting. So far we have had a good season in MiniMax with a good set of results. (these can be seen in the results section). I started my karting career at Brentwood Karting race track in corporate karts. I learnt good race craft and slowly started to shave tenths off of my lap times. I started to get braver behind the wheel and before long I was winning races. I ended my third season second in the championship beating drivers that had been to Brentwood for much longer than me so because of my fast progression, my mum and dad decided to buy me my own kart. They bought me a 125cc rotax minimax engine to go with my 2012 TonyKart chassis. We went to rye house and started doing test days until I was good enough to get my ARKS license, and when I got it I immediately went racing. I started to follow the other drivers to see their lines and braking points and how they took certain corners and after a few weeks I had developed good race craft and was attacking the faster drivers. I spent a season at mid pack and in the summer season, I managed to keep up with the top 5. This was a great achievement for me as I was new to the sport and hadn't previously done any form of Motorsport. My third season was by best season as far as improvement is concerned as I took my first week win. I had got the most points and ended up coming 1st overall. It was that season that i took 2nd in the Brentwood championship in my third season. In my following seasons i managed to finish in the top 3 each time until my mum and dad decided to buy me a kart. The Road To The Top 3 In MiniMaxSo I had collected a Few pieces of silverware from the Brentwood championships, and now it was time for some real fast paced racing. We went to our first test day with the kart and engine and were posting decent times, that were only 0.5 seconds off the pace. It was completely different to driving at Brentwood, the kart was a lot more complex and I could feel every corner thro
