Rowan Universtiy
I was born and raised in Pensacola, Fl. Immediately following high school I attempted Jr College and failed out after one semester. After failing out, I worked for two years as an apprentice for a Master Chef in Orange Beach, Alabama at the Perdido Beach Resort. The following year I managed my family's restaurant with my brother Angelo. I quickly realized that I did not want to be in the restaurant business for the rest of my life, so I decide to go back to college. At 22 I enrolled at Pensacola Jr. College and got very involved in the Campus Activities Board (CAB). My evolvement while in Jr. College led me to the University of West Florida (UWF). While at UWF I worked in Recreation as a Facilities Supervisor and Intramural/Special Events. After two years, I received my degree in Leisure Studies. My life journey was just beginning. At 25 I was hired as a Graduate Assistant at Rowan University (RU) in Glassboro, NJ. After three years as a Graduate Assistant at the Rowan Recreation Center, I received a Master of Arts in Student Personnel Services. After attending Rowan University, I started to make my way back down south to Richmond, Virginia where I was hired at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) as the Coordinator of Information Recreation and Special Events for the Recreational Sports Department. After two years at VCU, I took a job back at RU as the Assistant Director of Student Activities, and the Advisor to the Student University Programmers! When I accepted the graduate position at Rowan, my intentions were to get my Masters Degree and get back to Pensacola in two years. It has now been over thirteen years since I moved from Pensacola to South Jersey. Although I miss my family and friends, I have made a life for myself here with friends who I consider family!
