Consuelo Solar

I'm a film and television producer, story editor, and journalist with a passion for storytelling. I've lived and worked in U.S., Canada, and Chile, and have honed my skills through a variety of roles in the arts and entertainment industry.

I started my career in 2001 as entertainment reporter at The Miami Herald, and then moved into television production at CNN, first in Atlanta as Production Assistant, and later in Santiago as Field Producer. Later I worked as a correspondent in Toronto for international media outlets, covering film festivals, junkets, red carpets, and art events.

I graduated from the Masters programme at York University's Film Department, specializing in screenwriting and story editing. Since 2008 I have story edited several short and feature films, including LITTLE MISS JIHAD, winner of the 2011 Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival pitch competition. I'm currently an Associate Producer at Spiral Entertainment Ltd, where I'm involved in the production of the feature films ALGONQUIN and IT WAS YOU CHARLIE.
