Antonio Scott

Antonio D. Scott is an organizational strategist striving to build community and promote mission-driven impact. A proud Tennessee native, Antonio is a government affairs professional providing a wealth of experience in organizational development and capacity building. In 2024, Antonio served as the National Mayors Director for Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. In this role, Antonio coordinated relationships with more than 300 mayors across the country and helped establish the campaign’s strategy for engagement with local and state government officials.
Prior to joining the Harris Walz campaign, Antonio served as Managing Director and Chief of Staff for the African American Mayors Association (AAMA). As the de facto COO, Antonio coordinated the day-to-day operations and served as the senior advisor to the CEO. As AAMA’s chief deputy, he was primarily responsible for stewarding organizational strategy and ensuring strategic directives were aligned throughout every facet of the organization.
Antonio has also served as the Chief of Staff and Director of Strategic Initiatives at the National Bankers Association (NBA) and its non-profit affiliate, the National Bankers Association Foundation. While at NBA, Antonio assisted in the roll-out of a first-of-its-kind equity-focused framework tool created for minority depository institutions to assess their impact on closing the racial wealth gap. Antonio has also previously interned in the Strategic Partnerships division of ALSAC/St. Jude, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A higher education administrator by training, Antonio spent time at The University of Maryland, College Park, coordinating the professional development track of the College Success Scholars program within the Office of Multiethnic Student Education and taught “Introduction to Student Leadership” at the undergraduate level. Before joining the staff at UMD, Antonio was the interim Program Director for the African American Male Academy at The University of Memphis, his alma mater.
Antonio graduated with honors from The University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership, and The University of Maryland, College Park, with a master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, and International Education Policy.
