We are a team of husband Amit and wife Neelam who are into Spice business and cooking school.
Amit got spice business from his family heritage and now doing this business in moderate style and trying to bring this business in internationally. Amit used to work with banking BPO and realized to help family business and quit his job in 2012 along with his wife Neelam who was professionally a software computer expert. They both started a small company call COOKING MASALA in their home area Jaipur, RAJASTHAN, where they launched their family secret spice blends into international market .Earlier their family use to sell spices as an ingredients which is used in cooking but they added medicinal properties with uses but initially it did not work out as it was very hard because internationally people would not know how to use Indian spices. They decided that first they will trained people that Indian spices are not only used in Indian dishes but they can be used in any cuisine.
They thought of starting a cooking school where they show people how to use Indian spices as cooking and in any kind of cuisine. The concept they had was very simple “LEARN SKILLS NOT ONLY RECIPES”. The same time they also can explain them that spices are not only used in cooking, you can also use them as a medicine.
Later on in 2014 They both moved to Rishikesh Uttarakhand which is a yoga capital and a Ayurveda hub. The reason of moving to Rishikesh was first it was a great place where they could easily explain the medicinal uses of spices and it was also a pure vegetarian place. As both Amit and Neelam born in Jain family and they both are strict vegetarian.
They started their cooking school with same name COOKING MASALA where they had many challenges as it happens with every business But everything went well with time and slowly business set up well and they started to get good amount of people for learning, but still the main aim was to take their spice brand internationally was far as people were recognizing them as cooking instructor but not as spice blender.
Later on in 2017 they opened a small out let in Laxman Jhoola area in Tapovan Rishikesh of Spice blends where Amit would blend customized spices and from their they got their identity as a spice merchant , now Amit and Neelam take care of spice manufacturing cooking classes with help of one of a team member Sunil who helps in blending spices and Pratima who is their helping hands in cooking classes.
