‘Cool Madina’ is Jason Hayward, an ex-professional drummer of some considerable years and experience who (at the start of 2011) decided to shift his creative focus away from drumming and more into the arena of electronic Chillout & Downtempo music production. The end product of that shift is his debut album 'Calo des Moro' which is soon to be released. Without doubt, his style of writing is derived from a life-long obsession with groove and this is very evident when you hear his music which exudes a perfect blend of Chill-out and House… When commenting about the background to ‘Cool Madina’ Jason said this:- “Right from the outset, the intention was always to write music that people could relax to but really feel the groove at the same time. Café del Mar and the brand of music we have all come to associate with Ibiza Chill has for many years been a huge influence of mine and so it felt natural for me to be writing in that genre. However I always wanted to add a little bit of an edge to that style of music and I think that because of my obsession with rhythm and grooves, there has been a tendency for my music to lean slightly towards the ‘House’ side of Chill. If I’m honest, every track I write always begins with a rhythm pattern of some kind, as it’s the key element that drives my inspiration for the songs. One key figure in the Music Industry recently described my work as ‘Chill with a twist’ and I think that just about nails it.
