We often hear managers complaining that their employees arent effective, dont hear and just cant regularly get the work done. As a youth sports mentor, I hear instructors with similar complaintsthe kids dont listen, dont know where to go and dont try very hard. I cant relate. As a coach, I make my kids jobs very simple. I ask only a couple of things of these. I ask them to understand one-shot and I ask them to know about what's going on around them. Obviously we work with offensive and defensive method, but both of the revolve around-the two keys that I gave them for competence and successawareness.

I show awareness by continually asking them to be aware of where the ball is and at the same time for you to be aware of their teammates are and where their opponents are. I show competence by assigning homework to each child. We learned about seminar sales by searching the Internet. The next week of practice, they have to show me an area o-n the court from which they could make each and every time to an attempt. I dont care when it is from only two feet underneath the basket. I would like them to understand they can make it every single time. While the season progresses, they may gradually move their area further and further out, but I nevertheless ask that they have the ability to make their picture everytime unguarded used.
