Cordelia Coppleson

Chicago, IL

Accomplished litigator Cordelia Coppleson currently heads a private practice in Chicago, where she provides a host of services for those accused of committing a crime. Drawing on more than 15 years of experience in law, as well as a number of continuing education endeavors, Coppleson remains capable of reconstructing accidents, using evidence related to gunshot residue or fingerprints, and trying cases in front of juries in an effort to secure the most favorable results possible for her clients. A committed member of her profession, Cordelia Coppleson belongs to organizations such as Chicago Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, and Cook County Bar Association.

Prior to establishing her own firm, Cordelia Coppleson worked for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where, in addition to serving as Assistant State's Attorney, she undertook a variety of training initiatives to better fulfill her obligations. Among these courses were Ethics and Professionalism for Prosecutors, DUI Prosecution Seminar, Technology Topics for Prosecutors, and Litigation Technology. She also completed training in New Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct and Capital Litigation Case Law Update.

In other continuing education efforts, Cordelia Coppleson traveled to Charleston, South Carolina, to take the National College of District Attorneys' Career Prosecutor Course. In April 2012, she completed the Emerging Trends in Legal Ethics course, an online offering from the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois. Through the Chicago Bar Association, she has completed the online courses Picking the Best Jury, Evidence and Objection, and Using Litigation Technology in Criminal Cases.

Coppleson completed her degree in American studies at Union College in Schenectady, New York, before earning her law degree and gaining admission to the Illinois Bar. When not working, she enjoys refereeing games through the American Youth Soccer Organization.
