Corey Hoare

Currently, I am studying at Concordia University (Montreal, Quebec) as an undergraduate student specializing in psychology. In addition to completing my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Specialization Psychology, I also plan to complete an elective group in Management.After having completed ten months of volunteer work at a neurobiology lab at the Center for Studies in Behavioral Neurobiology (Concordia University), I became a research assistant for a professor in the department of Supply Chain and Business Technology Management at the John Molson School of Business, which is part of Concordia University. The majority of the research pertains to information sciences. Presently, I have been involved in various aspects of the research process including data collection ( by conducting semi-structured interviews), academic literature review and paper coding.Throughout my academic endeavors I have developed and grown my passion for neuroscience, industrial and organizational psychology, personnel psychology, decision making, consumer behavior, business, management, marketing and neuro-economics.This passion, lead a colleague and myself to form the Concordia Industrial and Organizational Psychology Student Association (CIOPSA);a first of it's kind at an English University in Quebec. The main goal being to academically bridge two key departments, notably those of Psychology and Management. Creating new and diverse research opportunities for undergraduate students interested in pursuing career in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. In addition to promoting and informing the University community to opportunities that await them should the choose to pursue a career in business (with their psychology degrees).After completion of my B.A., I plan to pursue graduate studies through the Masters of Science (MSc) in Management at the John Molson School of Business. This program would not only allow me to pursue advanced course work in management, but also provide practical skills when conducting academic studies.After completing my MSc in Management, I plan to obtain a Doctorate of Philosophy in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Further providing me with the necessary skills and knowledge to either pursue a career in academia or in business. Following completion of my masters, I plan to pursue my Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
