Ronca, Corey (Corey Anthony Ronca), 2000 – American baseball player, born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Regarded as one of the top youth talents the national scouts have their eyes on, Ronca has quickly emerged as one of Hampton Roads’ Elite 12U RHP’s. After starting in the Great Neck Baseball League at 7 years of age, he was quickly recruited to the select travel team at the age of 8. Son of Lori and Mike Ronca, Corey was guided to a work ethic that put education first and his baseball aspirations parallel. Corey maintains a solid “A” grade point average while enrolled in all advanced placement and higher level learning course work. In 2012, he received the Presidential Award of Excellence in Education for being a select few students receiving straight “A”s the entire year, while enrolled in the prestigious Math and Science Academy of Virginia Beach at Linkhorn Elementary School.
Corey spends countless hours perfecting his game. His Pitching Coach, Jimmy Anderson (former MLB LHP for the Pirates, Reds, Cubs and Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series Championship Team) sees unlimited potential in Corey’s growth and development in pursuit of his Major League Baseball Career. “He is extremely motivated and coachable in all respects”, says Anderson, “a trait that is always sought after by pro scouts and teams alike.”
