Corey Rapa
My name is Corey Rapa and I am currently a student within the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I have an expected Graduation date of May 2016 and am pursuing a Major in Finance with a Minor in Psychology. There are a lot of things I could say to describe the type of individual I am and my passions, but I think it best to reflect on my Past while also pointing out the Future I am working towards.
Throughout High School I was very active in my education. I had high academic standards for myself, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I also made sure to participate in as many organizations and groups as I could manage. From the start of Freshman Year I was a proud member of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, where I gained knowledge of the armed forces as well as a strong sense of leadership. Using that as a foundation for the individual I wanted to become, I then branched out to groups such as the High School Football team, the National Honor Society, as well as the Math Honor Society. As the years went on I was able to Graduate in the top 5% of my class of over 400 and also made it into the my first choice for Higher Education, UMass Amherst.
Three years later and I am still a student at this admirable University and more then that, I am a student within the Isenberg School of Management. While continuing my education, I have had the pleasure of working with a distinguished Company which originated in my Hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts.
Over the Past two Summers I have had the honor of participating in an Internship Program at MassMutual Financial, a Fortune 100 Company that is over 160 Years old! This company has over 4,000 Employees at its home office, but everyday at work these individuals feel like they are surounded by family. This is the type of work environment I strive to be a part of, and it has opened my eyes, to how unique areas of the work force can be.
As I continue to further my experience and relationships in the Business World, I hope to continue my work with MassMutual Financial and leave College with a sense of who I am as an individual. My drive to branch out and be the best student I can be, has been fueled by my passion to reach my potential and work for a company like MassMutal. I want to be able to reflect on the first 21 years of my life and appreciate the path I have taken and where I have ended up.
