Hello everyone! My name is Corianne but I prefer Cori; you're welcome to call me either. I am twenty years old and I graduated high school in 2013. Shortly after that, I attended Emmanuel College in Boston for two semesters as a biology major but decided it wasn't a great fit and took a year off. Now I am here at GCU and ready to be a teacher!
The thing that opened me up to becoming a teacher was a volunteer job I had in high school at Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut. I was a volunteer camp counselor with elementary school children. I loved every minute of it. When I was in college, I got a job working as an after school program counselor and then I knew that I was majoring in the wrong subject.
I just moved out of New York City and back to where I grew up. When I lived in the city, my favorite thing to do was attend theater. I still love to see any type of theater that is accessible to me. I also love reading. I grew up with the Harry Potter series and revisit the books fairly often. I also love to travel but have not traveled outside the country as much as I would like to. My favorite trip that I have ever taken is a ten day snorkeling trip to Belize that I went on with an oceanography camp that I went to in high school. I have always been fascinated by the ocean and it was the first time I really got to explore coral reefs.
I cannot wait for what the future holds!
