Corrin Campbell

As far as artists are concerned, Corrin comes from a strange place: the US Army. She maintains a successful full-time military career, but continues to put a mark on the world as a songwriter, singer, bass player, and artist. It's a part-time job with full-time committment. "Every hour I'm not on-duty and working for the Army, I'm working on my music - whether I'm scheduling a tour for the next two-week block of leave, writing and recording original music, or my favorite: chatting with fans. I work almost every waking hour of every week just so I can do what I love." From dining facilities in Baghdad to opening Lilith Fair, Corrin continues to strive for communication through music, connection with soldiers, connection with civilians... connection with people. "I write from the heart, and sing my stories. I think it can speak to anyone, because it's really just my truth. We all struggle and grow - it's a part of life." Most recently, Corrin was hired by the Army to fill a truly unique role: "The Army pays me to tour, rock out and talk to people about my story, as a soldier, an American, and a person. Soldiers are real people, and I think it's good for people to get to know one. Contrary to what some media would lead you to believe, we're not machines and we're not faceless martyrs either. We're just like you. The Army can be a great solution for some, not great for others - but it has been awesome for me. They've identified my strengths and put me in a job that utilizes those very strengths - what a great feeling!" "One of the most important pieces of my job is to be there to answer questions, and talk with people. I don't have a quota or a hidden agenda. I won't try to recruit you. I just want you to think about the Army and soldiers in a new way. And being able to do that through music and as a soldier is a dream come true."
