Cory Fisher

Cory is an attorney in the Shook, Hardy & Bacon law firm's Intellectual Property Prosecution & Counseling Practice, where he focuses on patent and trademark prosecution in both the United States and abroad.

His experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a number of diverse technology fields, including the Internet, computer software, telecommunications, medical hardware and software, business methods, athletic equipment and apparel, and the mechanical arts. Cory also conducts patentability, patent infringement, and patent validity analyses as well as performs offensive and defensive patent portfolio reviews for clients in a broad range of technology fields.

Before joining Shook, Hardy and Bacon, Cory received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Iowa. While at the University of Iowa, Cory used his experience as a licensed pilot working for the University of Iowa’s Operator Performance Laboratory to research synthetic vision systems in a flying environment. He also worked as a manufacturing engineer at a custom manufacturing facility that specialized in sewn, sealed, and thermoformed products. Further, Cory gained experience in the financial services industry as a Series 7 Registered Representative for a broker-dealer. In addition, Cory has developed a number of Internet-based services from concept to launch, handling all aspects including design, development, and marketing. These diverse, yet complimentary, experiences provide Cory with a broad and valuable perspective when providing legal services.
