Born in Florida on July 31, 1980, Cory Scott Simmons attended Florida State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Theater. At FSU, he was involved in various leadership programs and was recognized as a Florida Bright Futures Scholar. After completing his undergraduate studies, Cory pursued a law degree at Florida Coastal School of Law. There, he became known for his academic abilities and passion for the legal field. Cory was part of the Moot Court Honor Board and participated in mock trial competitions, refining his public speaking and argumentation skills. He won the National Moot Court Competition in 2005 and was named Best Oralist in the Prince Evidence Competition in 2006.

After graduating with his Juris Doctor in 2007, Cory Simmons, an Atlanta Attorney, began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida. He prosecuted cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies and led 18 trials, securing 12 guilty verdicts. This role helped him develop valuable skills in case management, motion preparation, investigation, and courtroom representation.

In 2009, Cory shifted his focus to civil litigation when he joined The Law Offices of Robert Shafer & Associates as a senior associate. He handled various civil cases, including criminal defense, civil forfeitures, and personal injury claims. Later, he moved to Baumann, Gant & Keeley, P.A., where he represented clients in professional liability and construction defect cases, including a high-profile case involving 26 active parties.

In 2016, Cory joined Morgan & Morgan P.A. as a Lead Attorney and Partner in the Business Trial Group. He oversaw commercial litigation efforts across North Florida and Georgia and handled multimillion-dollar cases in business disputes, fraud, and securities litigation.

In October 2024, Cory became Managing Partner at Spizzirri Law, LLC, overseeing the firm’s operations and complex business litigation cases. He continues to serve as the lead attorney in numerous trials.
