Marcela Costa

Rio De Janeiro, Rj - Brasil

Marcela Costa has been a jewelry designer, metalsmith and sculptor for 15 years. She traveled the world to find inspiration, techniques and practice before returning to her home land, Brazil, to create unique Sterling silver, Brass, Bronze, Steel jewelry and objects. The seeds of her art were planted during the 13 years spent as a teenager in the Brazilian Amazon.
Today, Marcela hand sculpts all pieces at her studio on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. She counts on the help of a small team of passionate young local professionals, personally trained by the artist in jewelry design and accessory assembly.
Inspired by the beautiful Brazilian tropics, all pieces presented here have been uniquely developed and crafted locally, in special honor of the biggest event ever hosted in Brazil, The 2014 World Cup.
In an effort to stimulate, physical education and social development for Brazilian children in poor communities, Marcela Costa will donate 10% of all proceeds to the R.R.F.C., a non-profit organization that trains, supports, and educates, hundreds of underprivileged kids in the Rio de Janeiro urban slums of Cantagalo and Rocinha.
