Costis Dallas

I'm an archaeologist and historian by training, having worked however for many years in the field of museum information, digital heritage and cultural management in various hands-on, management and consulting positions. Since the late 1990s I teach in the Department of Communication, Media and Culture, Panteion University. I am also a research fellow of the Digital Curation Unit-IMIS, Athena Research Centre, and i maintain the status of associate professor at the University of Toronto iSchool, in whose Masters of Museum Studies programme I taught from 2008-2010. Mu current projects include researching the theory and prectice of the digital curation of thing cultures, studying artistic creativity through autobiography, investigating museum value and visitor experience, and evaluating cultural practices and policies in a comparative perspective. I have been involved in the DARIAH European digital infrastructures for the humanities project, and serve as a principal investigator in the CARARE: Connecting archaeology and architecture in Europeana network of excellence. I hold a Doctor a Philosophy degree in Classical Archaeology from the University of Oxford.
