Courtney West

Courtney West is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of International Law Matters (ILM). He started ILM with the hopes of promoting intellectually stimulating debates on the up-to-date legal developments in all fields of international law by providing critically written, thought-provoking commentary on international laws and their impact around the world.

He received his JD, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. He received his MA from St. John’s University and his BA from Pace University, both in New York City. He was senior associate editor for both the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review and the Thomas M. Cooley Journal of Practical and Clinical Law. Courtney has a strong interest in public policy and is passionate about international human rights law, international environmental law, international criminal law, and international contracts law. He studied international law in Toronto, Canada at the University of St. Michael’s College; in Cape Town, South Africa at the University of Western Cape; and in Melbourne, Australia at Monash Law School. Courtney is currently a United Nations Representative for Media 4 Humanity and Global Hope Network International.
