We are often defined by sets of characteristics such as kind, funny, or maybe even smart. I would like to think I possess those characteristics along with many more. I think my favorite characteristics I possess are my compassion, my patience, and my love for others. I have an 8-year-old brother who I believe is the main reason I am who I am today. With parents who work a lot, and being ten years older than Tyler, I am pretty much his second mom. While still at home I would get him off the bus every day, do his homework with him, and make him a snack to hold him over until my parents came home from work. During the summer we spent every day together going to the movies or sitting by the pool. No matter how much he was able to, and still is able to get on my nerves, he has helped me mature to be who I am today. I am now more responsible, I am now more independent, and I now look at life differently than I did before. I find excitement in the little things, just like an 8-year-old, and I love with my whole heart. I can honestly say I don’t know who I would be without Tyler, my baby brother.
