-As an undergraduate at UT Austin, I broke a story on hiring policies that allowed two brothers convicted of violently assaulting a gay man to teach and grade UT students. The professor was terminated as a result. Received over 24,000 hits within one week of publication.

-Invited as a guest speaker 160 days before Mohammed Rasool, a Turkish journalist detained on assignment for VICE, was released from prison. Discussed the future of young journalists who wish to cover conflict in areas of crises with VICE journalist Jake Hanrahan.

News Intern
-Pitched stories in morning news meetings, accompanied reporters on stories, wrote for WFAA.com and assisted in the control room during newscasts. Assisted reporters in the field covering the Democratic National Convention, the Texas State Fair and several Town Hall proceedings. Prepared questions and briefed reporter before interviewing the Dallas Chief of Police on a glitch in their booking system that allowed for inmates to be wrongfully released.
