Hola! I am Courtney Pike. Welcome to my life…
In 4th grade, we transformed our hallways into a tropical rainforest and learned about the importance of unique places like this. This sparked my love and passion for tropical ecosystems and research, with a dream to work in the tropics and help conserve beautiful organisms and nature.

Now, I am following my dream—as a Master's student in ecology. Due to my passion, I have found myself in some exotic places lately--Guyana, studying little fish and collard lizard behaviors & experiencing the breathtaking Kaieteur Falls; avian fieldwork on the Galapagos Islands, including camping for weeks on an uninhabited island; and traveling through rainforest in Costa Rica, learning new field techniques, research skills, and studying Strawberry Dart Poison frogs.

Currently, I am interning at the Audubon Society, along with finishing up lab analysis on a parasitic fly for my Master’s thesis project, with a hope to defend and graduate in December 2014. I will be seeking opportunities as of my graduation date.
