Courtney Symons
Writer in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
I'm Editor in Chief at Shopify, formerly Lead Writer to Tobi Lutke, the CEO of Shopify. This role is my version of Narnia.
I was named #2 on the list of women with badass jobs in Ottawa.
I wrote a novel for National Novel Writing Month — learn more here.
I wrote an article about my experience writing 100 haikus in 100 days on Medium.
Formerly, I was the technology reporter for the Ottawa Business Journal, which publishes a bi-weekly newspaper and daily web content. I got to meet tons of interesting and innovative entrepreneurs living and working in Ottawa.
I'm also the author of Once, We Were Stolen, a fictional novel that tells the tale of a brother and sister kidnapped by a man who is somehow hard to hate. Hard copies and e-books are available on Amazon as well as Barnes & Noble and the Apple iBookstore, too.
While I'm an advocate for new technology, there's still nothing that compares to the feel of a book in your hands.
I was a finalist in the Hot Mommas Project global case study competition based out of Washington, D.C., which collects success stories from women across the globe. You can read my case study here.
