The New Swan Academy of Art, Design & Design Thinking tutors encourage each student’s own abilities in their chosen medium, and help develop their awareness and responsiveness to stimuli such as the language of art i.e. texture and tone, light and colour, and the technical knowledge required to complete a work of art. Over the course we will build on the observational skill and confidence necessary to handle art applications. Our art classes cater for all levels from beginner to advanced abilities and for all ages from Children to Adults.
Drawing: Observational Studies. Graphite pencils, pen & ink, inked brushes, wax colour pencils, crayons, charcoal, chalk, pastels.
Learning how to draw realistically is the first step in becoming an artist. The difficulty for most people is sometimes they do not know how they see what they see. Picasso said,
“All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once they grow up. ” Picasso spent all his life learning to draw like a child, uninhibited.
At the The New Swan Academy of Art, Design & Design Thinking you will learn how to use the common instruments of drawing including various kinds of erasers, markers & styluses.
