Colin Pinkney is a native of Fayetteville, NC and has lived in the Charlotte community since 1995, serving as a business manager, business owner, co-Pastor, community organizer, and advocate for urban causes. He has served as the Executive Director of The Urban Restoration Incorporated, since 2005.

In addition to his local community leadership, he serves as a certified trainer with The National Center for Fathering based in Kansas City MO. His name is synonymous with various fathering initiatives throughout Charlotte as he has volunteered his time to serve as Chairman for the Father Daughter summit (2006,08,09) and Chairman of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Fatherhood Town Hall Meeting in 2008. He is a sought out speaker for issues related to fathering and parenting on radio, TV, print media and in conferences.

Since 2004 he has consulted with and provided leadership to other successful non profit organizations including Samaritans Feet, YBM Alliance, Role Models, and the Charlotte Mecklenburg PTA Council. He has served as the co-Chaplain for the Charlotte Bobcats since 2005.

In 2009 he formed the Young Male Book Club at Olympic High School to encourage minority at risk males to stay in school. As of 2012, the program has served 120 students with a 100% high school graduation rate.

In 2011 Colin volunteered his time to serve as the Project Manager for the Men Who Care Global initiative which in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was largely responsible for providing a safe and event free July 4th celebration in uptown Charlotte. In 2011, Mayor Anthony Foxx recognized Mr. Pinkney as one of the top 20 mentors in Charlotte.

In 2012, Governor Bev Perdue honored Colin with a Governor’s Medallion for Excellence in Mentoring for 2011-2012. Colin founded and chaired the 2012 first ever Amazing Love Father Daughter Experience, designed to celebrate the unique value that healthy father daughter relationships are to our community.

Colin brings to the community a God-given passion for restoration and healing of marriage and family, particularly fathers in the African American community.
