Chris Pokrana

Chris has 15 years of technology experience in the nonprofit sector. He initially joined Points of Light in 2006 as a Consultant, successfully migrating the organization's core business systems to Salesforce.com. A year later, as Interim CIO during the merger with HandsOn Network, Chris played a central role in the consolidation of information systems and national websites. In the time since, he has been leading the development of HandsOn Connect, the best-in-class cloud-based community volunteer management platform. Prior to joining Points of Light, he worked for United Way of America managing sales, support, and training for their volunteer engagement platform, Volunteer Solutions, and leading an international CRM initiative. He has also worked as a technology consultant in the Greater Boston area assisting and advising nonprofits with their technology needs; served a one-year term of service with AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer; and managed volunteers at a local volunteer center in Virginia.

Chris has a BS in Environmental Policy and Planning from Virginia Tech and a Nonprofit Management Certificate from Georgetown University. He lives in an Airstream travel trailer, enjoying changing office views and warm weather year-round. His wife and daughter accompany him on this great adventure.
