Welcome, I'm Charlie Pownall. By day, I help companies, organisations and individuals understand, protect, manage and defend their reputations.

This can mean advising on and/or handling problems of a kind that can negatively shape how a brand, organisation or individual is seen. I also prepare my clients to meet known, lesser known and sometimes unknown reputational threats through risk assessments, planning, training and other techniques.

On this theme, I have written a book - Managing Online Reputation: How to Protect your Company On Social Media (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015), which has been described as 'compelling and incisive', 'a must-read for any manager or director who cares about their organisation' and 'the art of reputation for the digital age'.

Outside work, my interests range from reading, writing and politics/current affairs, to travel, music, tennis, cycling and swimming. I'm also partial to good food, especially Asian, and wine, notably peppery reds and off dry whites.

I am currently based in London, and travel extensively for work and pleasure, mostly across Europe, the Middle-east and Asia. I was born and worked in Hong Kong and have also lived and worked in Brussels, Madrid and Singapore.
