Welcome to the world of the Creative Production and Training Centre, CPTC. Since 1984, we have proudly delivered on our mandate to record, archive and promote diverse expressions of Jamaica’s indigenous culture. In less than thirty years, the CPTC has produced over fifteen hundred hours of programming ranging from documentaries, interviews, educational features, dramatic, entertainment and cultural packages. Perennial favourites like Hill an’ Gully Ride (1988) and Rappin’ (1988), are joined by new innovative programmes ‘Jamaica Beat’ (2012) and our tribute to Jamaica’s 50th anniversary celebrations,‘This Week in 1962’ (2012); with more new projects expected to be implemented 2012 – 2014. CPTC’s cultural content programmes can be seen on local free to air and cable stations, as well as on own internet site. JamVision, the Content Distribution arm of the CPTC, negotiates broadcast contracts for CPTC’s cultural programmes to free-to-air and cable stations on local free-to-air and cable stations, as well as those in the Caribbean, the U.K., several African Nations, the Far East, and The Americas; the vision is the dissemination of Jamaica’s culture to all corners of the globe. JamVision also negotiates and guides the production of customized culture content for overseas programmers, and markets CPTC’s invaluable archive of traditional culture content dating back to 1984. We are proud of the high standards in media production set by the CPTC Productions team. Our services which include electronic field productions, EFP, outside broadcast facilities, studio rental, post production, video productions, and multi-media services, are in great demand, due largely because of the professional service and expertise displayed by the team. CPTC Productions boasts one the largest, most impressive array of clients including private and public sector entities, local and global sporting organizations, and the entertainment fraternity. Media Technology Institute, MTI, which was launched in 2005 gives the CPTC the opportunity to pass on its media production expertise to fledging media professionals who require hands-on training to achieve world standards for media production. MTI strives to constantly respond to the needs of its students and the media fraternity and corporate clients whom we serve.
