Christiaan Vorkink
Philanthropy
I joined Mulago in 2025 to lead sourcing for our Fellows program. Previously, I worked for 17 years at True Ventures in San Francisco, where I served as an investment principal, was True’s first head of platform, and, most recently, created and led True’s philanthropic arm, TrueVentures.org.
Rolling back the clock more than 20 years, my first job after college was teaching junior high and high school history. While I'm no longer teaching in the traditional context, I have maintained lifelong interests in education and service to others.
I'm a Bay Area resident now but for the first three decades of my life, I lived in New England. For many years I maintained a connection to my roots in part by serving on the board of trustees of YMCA Camp Belknap, a summer camp for boys in New Hampshire which I attended and where I worked for a dozen years. Robert Fulghum says he learned all he really needed to know in kindergarten; I'd say the same about Belknap.
