"In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks"-John Muir

I first began taking photos when I was about 19, at about the same time I writing poetry. Some of my poems were recognized, and published in the International Society of Poetry's anthologies. Indefinitely, my poetry and love for classic literature translated into the visual realm. Initially, I started out with developing my own photographs in the darkroom, which belonged to a nearby high school. My first camera was a vintage Pentax K1000 and with it I learned the basics of lighting and that I was basically becoming what I call a 'poetographer'. Combining my literary imagination with that of the visual came naturally to me and nature is what I grew to love as the main subject of my works. For a few years, I took a break from photography and when I returned, I succumbed to trying out digital photography, as I was rather resistant to drifting away from the traditional form. What I found out about digital photography is that it is has many advantages, although I do believe that I am and always will remain a true traditional, black and white photographer at heart. In addition, my focus on nature and landscapes is unwavering as revealing the beauty created by God all around us, is my motivation. Both my background in film and in television-having worked on feature film sets as well being as a Producer's Assistant and Reporter for a Canadian national television station have, in my opinion, shaped my artistic visions. In a way I take photos with a cinematographic approach and my inspirations are many-ranging from film to literature, to current social and political issues like politics, as well as religion, history and science, or just a set of associations or styles from other artists.
