Craig Abruzzo

An expert in digital media, Craig Abruzzo currently serves as Senior Director of the Y! Contributor Network at Yahoo!. He has worked in various markets across the globe to develop targeted business strategies that incorporate sales, finance, editorial, technology, and more. In 2011, Craig Abruzzo spearheaded the introduction of the Y! Contributor Network in the United Kingdom and Brazil and will launch in 12 new markets in 2012.

Mr. Abruzzo joined Yahoo! in 2010 following its acquisition of Associated Content, Inc., where he had served as General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Development. He was the fifth employee at Associated Content and played an integral role in building the company, putting it on a run rate to profitability, and positioning it for sale to Yahoo!. Craig Abruzzo oversaw all corporate legal matters at Associated Content, including financing, privacy, business development, and intellectual property issues. He led series A, B, and C financing rounds, acquiring $21.4 million for the firm, and negotiated the sale to Yahoo! in May 2010. At the time of the sale, Associated Content had grown to 75 employees in two cities.

From 2000 to 2005, Craig Abruzzo advised on corporate development, commercial partnerships, and acquisitions as Assistant General Counsel at IGN Entertainment, Inc. In this position, he structured and negotiated all of the company's major contracts and transactions. Mr. Abruzzo also organized an in-house legal department, developed legal protocols, and managed the litigation practice. He also oversaw the company's $650 million sale to Fox Interactive Media, Inc.

Craig Abruzzo laid the foundation for his career at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in International Relations with a focus in Economics. In 1988, Mr. Abruzzo spent a year abroad at Beijing Normal University. He subsequently enrolled at Brooklyn Law School to pursue his Juris Doctor. En route to earning his degree, he acted as Associate Managing Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of International Law.
