On my previous journeys through jewellery design and making to research for sustainability, Design Ethnography and Service Design has become a place where I feel at home; combining research with collaborative thinking and doing.
My training as a jewellery designer and maker taught me to think with my hands. To understand what you can do with a material you must build a relationship with it. Over time you come to understand the nature of the material, how it reacts and what you can do with it.
Similarly in Design Ethnography and Service Design, I build relationships with clients, users, participants and other interested parties. I build relationships to understand the nature of the landscape and the actors, to better feel our way when creating value for our clients.
Throughout my work I have been experimenting with tactile modes of work as collaborative tools and sustainability theory to create resilience for clients.
