Craille Maguire Gillies
London, England
I am a National Magazine Award-winning writer and editor from Canada. I am currently an assistant production editor on the Guardian's Culture desk.
I am also features editor at Eighteen Bridges magazine. I was an editorial manager at University of the Arts London and a story editor for Reader's Digest. Once upon a time, I lived in Montreal, where I worked at the travel magazine enRoute, a job that took me from the Galapagos to rural Wales to the wilds of northern Canada.
When I'm not editing, I write about such things as London foxes, cloud aficionados, and the Occupy movement for publications like The Walrus, The Globe and Mail, and Canadian Geographic. Oh, and once I profiled a bison whisperer.
I'm currently writing a book about modern nomads, drifters and mobile communities. Check out my research blog, themodernnomad.tumblr.com. And visit craille.com for writing, editing, and the odd photo of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
I live in London.
