Cory Rawlinson

It is often said, "If a man is to shed the light of the sun upon other men, he
must first of all have it within himself." This statement is only partially true. It is better said that, "If a man is to shed the light of the SON upon other men, he must first of all have the SON within himself."

Mr. Rawlinson is married to Mrs. Tarica Rawlinson, father of one and is the eldest son of Ms. Sharon Rawlinson. Born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC, he completed his formal education in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Public School System.

A mentor by call and by profession, Mr. Rawlinson has over fifteen years of
experience working with at-risk youth. He has been employed through agencies such as the Salvation Army Boys Club, Durham Public School System, Triumph Youth Services LLC; Life Foundations Behavioral and Mental Health, Inc. He recentlyserved as an Outreach Worker for Project BUILD, an agency that specializes in gang intervention by linking them to appropriate resources in an effort to decrease negative activity and more importantly to increase productivity.

Mr. Rawlinson currently serves as a Recreation Specialist for Durham Parks and Recreation, where he develops and implements diverse recreational programs for the City of Durham. Mr. Rawlinson is also the Co-founder and Director of Triangle Leadership Academy of Durham, a program which explores,exposes, and employs essential leadership and interpersonal skills in youth between the ages of 12-18 through the development of teamwork, character and
service.

Mr. Rawlinson is a minister and faithful member of Grace Church of Durham, where he serves under the leadership of his spiritual mentor, Dr. Kedrick T. Lowery. He has coordinated and led youth Bible studies at local community centers; he has served as a liaison between local universities and Grace Church, and currently serves as the Grace Church YouthLeader.

Mr. Rawlinson consummated his undergraduate studies at North Carolina Central
University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. He is currently in Graduate School striving to receive his Master's Degree in Executive- Public Administration at NCCU. Throughout his life, Mr. Rawlinson, has earned many distinguished titles such as: Youth of the Year; Crosby Scholar; YMCA Black
Achiever, and President of Keystone Leadership Program.
