I help passionate landscape photographers make perfect sense of Lightroom and Photoshop.
I believe that anyone can create meaningful images in the digital darkroom without feeling overwhelmed by technology… if they follow one simple strategy: Learn it once, and learn it right.
Lens Correction Controls in Lightroom Classic
Lightroom Classic includes numerous lens profiles, which can be used to correct common lens aberrations such as barrel and pincushion geometric distortion (“barrel” distortion causes straight lines to appear to bow outward, “pincushion” distortion causes straight lines to appear to bend inward). Most lens profiles also correct for vignetting (where the corners of an image appear darker than the rest of an image). In addition, Lightroom’s ability to remove chromatic aberration corrects for misaligned pixels in an image (also caused by lens distortion).
Learn how nature photographers use Photoshop in four simple steps.
When it comes to processing landscapes in Photoshop, there are only four main concepts you need to know: layers, masks, smart objects, and luminosity masks.
And once you learn them, even the most advanced techniques (like dodging and burning or exposure blending) will make total sense.
I’ve simplified these pillars of Photoshop into easy-to-follow guides that you can start reading right now.
