My childhood dream goal was to sing songs I have written, by placing 13 songs of different genres on 20 albums.

Crescenda is my artist pen name. It is taken from the female form of the word Crescendo that designates the increase in volume during a musical note.

I named myself this in honor of my late voice lesson teacher Joseph Brown who was the first African American to be named Mr. UTSA. He inspired me and taught me how to sign in Spanish, Italian, and German when I was 12. He died when I was 14 being pushed in a pool by his best friends as a prank who did not know he could not swim. I had offered to teach him how to swim but he always had a fear of water so I was angry and missed our last lesson the summer before he died out of rejection.

My real name is Andrea Elaine Pearson-Haas. My parents met in grad school and hyphenated the last names so this is my maiden last name.
