I write fiction, make creatures, build games, and think about what’s happening as humans and AI start to work together. But everything I do, it’s just facets of the same thing. I’m paying attention to how minds connect together, and sharing that through story, and essays. And how systems, especially complex systems like AI, are going to affect us moving forward.

Writing. Twelve published books across science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, and horror, under Crissy Moss, CL Moss, and Chris Moss. Current projects include a novel I’m serializing on [Royal Road / WebNovel / Scribble Hub / Wattpad], a short story collection called Artful Intelligence, and a nonfiction book on functional awareness and how minds emerge across substrates. You can also see what I’m reading on Goodreads. And you can find my blog also on Substack.

Creatures. I draw, paint, and build original creatures in watercolor, digital, marker, and felt. The collection lives on Instagram, and at CrissysCreatures, where I also maintain an animated fish tank built with Claude, as well as a sketchbook of progress work.

Games. I run LelulaGames, where I’m building Field Guide to Paylora, a cozy exploration game about photographing original creatures on a small island. Earlier free games are also on itch.io.

Merchandise. Fabric designs at Spoonflower, merchandise at Redbubble. Stickers, prints, and more on Ko-Fi.

Research. I do independent work on cognition, including the Moss Fractal framework for thinking about how connection influenced evolution. The original paper is on LessWrong, and ongoing work is documented [here].

I’m based in North Carolina. If you want to talk about any of it DM me on twitter @crissymoss.
