Cristian Ostafi

My trade is Chemical Engineering where I have created essential improvements in equipment, processes and factory management. In parallel, I am a conceptual philosopher, photographer and the foremost experimental visual artist of the Conceptual Abstract Art. Simultaneously, I was the conception’s creator, director, producer and actor of the Sound and Light theatrical production “1877&1907”(1977) (nationally awarded), founder and manager of the First Students’ Cinematheque in the city of Jassy, (1978-1982) (with Arin Coza), initiator, organizer, and financier (along with Kovacs Ildiko and Gelu Cirlig) of The First Romanian Pantomime Training Camp(1982), curator of experimental and sci-fi (with Dan Merisca) magazines and art shows and flag bearer of the symbolic visual metaphoric synoptic artistic language all while fighting in the underground opposition against totalitarian regime of Communist Romania
