Cristian Paone

I am a Finance major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am an extremely self-motivated and driven student with a hunger to succeed. Applying to college out of high school, I was denied from "prestigious" schools such as Boston University, Northeastern University, and Babson College. I want to prove to myself and the schools that I am capable of being an elite student and performer. This provides me with motivation every day to perform at a top notch level. I understand that in college you are not only competing with your classmates, but everyone in your class from thousands of schools all over the country. I want to put myself in the best position to overcome my competition and land a job. My short term goals include landing an internship this summer, graduating college with a 3.5 GPA or above, having a full time job after college, spending more leisure time with my family and friends before I graduate, and to make more friends/relationships each year. Recently, I have participated in a case competition for PriceWaterhouseCoppers, which required a significant amount of time, effort, and critcal thinking. I have also completed an externship at Liberty Mutual Insurance where I gained valuable knowledge and some experience.
