Cristina Brown

Lawrence, Kansas, United States

I joined the University Career Center at the University of Kansas at the YES Student Coordinator in August of 2013 and it has been an amazing journey since then. The duties of the position evolve and change from day to day. One week I’m hiring tutors and discussing class needs with teachers and the next I can be found managing time cards and tutor schedules. Each new skill gained is helpful in ensuring the YES program remains a strong asset for the community and the tutors to gain experience. The position is one I never take for granted and I hope that when the next Student Coordinator joins the team they will take what I have done with the program and help it grow even more.

When I’m not in the office you can still find me on campus. I’m a student here at the University of Kansas in the School of Business pursuing my MBA. I also have two bachelor degrees in Psychology and Political Science as a part of my undergraduate.

Working out is another passion of mine. Whether it’s a good walk with friends or an intense workout at our recreation facility on campus- there’s no better way to unwind after a hard day. I’m a strong advocate of breakfast for dinner, adore cats, find Zen in shopping, and can serve as a willing devil’s advocate when a friend is debating a topic. My constant search for knowledge and experiences is something I hope to never lose touch with as I get older.
