Cristina Carrascal Díez
Student, Teacher, and Musician in Valladolid, España
Hallo! My name is Cristina and I am 21 years old. I was born in Valladolid but a half of my family are from a little village in Asturias, called Mieres, so I usually tend to say that I'm from both places.
My family is formed by my parents, my brother, my dog and I (believe or not,in spite of being so small, I am the eldest of my brothers). I am in love with my dog: His name is Thor and he is the cutest pug in the world. He is such a smart dog that he can sing "Happy birthday to you" if you sing with him! (I am teaching him how to sing the main theme from Harry Potter now).
My hobbies are music and video games mostly, but I also like to travel and meet other cultures (despite the fact that I have only travelled to France, Italy and Portugal). When I was 8 years old, I began to play the piano and a few years ago I stopped because of the studies, but I have returned now to play it and I have also started to play the ukelele by myself.
My main goal in life is being a good teacher because I adore being with kids and, in addition, education for me is one of the pillars of society and we have to take care of it. I want to improve my knowledge about CLIL because nowadays the bilingualism is very important to our students, not only to study certain subjects, but to communicate with other people from different countries. We are growing and people around the world is communicating always between each other (at the news, at the social media...), so this is what kids really need: to communicate and to understand different languages and different cultures.
I started studied Primary Education in Valladolid in 2013/2014 and I have worked as a particular teacher one year.
I am quite nervous about this exchange but I can not wait to start and learn more about CLIL, also to work with my partners in the Netherlands.
Tot ziens!
