The most important aspect of my life is my family. Each person in my family has shaped and molded me into the person that I have become today. From my twelve year old sister to my eighty year old grandparents, every person in my family has impacted me in a way that has given me my identity.
I was an only child for the first 6 years of my life. When my sister Hannah was born, I was not prepared for such a drastic change that had come about. I was used to being in the spotlight twenty four seven, but now I had to share that with my new baby sister. My sister Hannah has taught me a lot about humility and the importance of having a self less attitude towards life. Although she is younger than me, I have learned a lot of life’s lessons her.
My father has played a key role in my life. He has taught me a lot about character. My dad has always been a role model in my life because of his intelligence. Not only is he knowledgeable, but he also is very intelligent when it comes to life situations. My father has taught me that to be successful in this world, you must respect the people around you. He also has taught me that the way you act towards people depicts the person you truly are. Without my dad, I would not be as successful as I consider myself to be today.
My mother is my best friend. She has taught me many hard lessons, but overall, she has taught me the importance of perseverance. I have had many struggles throughout my life, but my mom has been my number one advocate through it all. She has never let me use excuses as to why I am unable to succeed. She has been the push throughout my life that has illustrated to me that I can do anything when I put my mind to it.
I am proud to have been blessed with the family I have today. Although we go through our “ups” and “downs,” I know that I can always count on them to be there for me through thick and thin.
